Comments and Ratings for Pimlical Advanced Calendar

A Power-User's Calendar - Nexus 7 (Update) A fantastic calendar and scheduling app that gives you very powerful, fine-grained control. Understand all that control requires a bit of a learning curve. However, it is time well spent. It works with Google (which I don't use) or with DirectSync to a Palm Desktop type Desktop PIM (which I do use). In fact, you can even mix both. DirectSync is by far the best desktop syncing experience on Android. So far this only does calendaring and scheduling, but it will eventually handle memos (coming very soon) and contacts from the desktop application as well. This is not an app you will figure out in Google Play's pathetic 15 minutes for refund, so visit the developers site and there is a Yahoo group linked there where experienced users can answer questions before you buy. This is admittedly a pricy app (by smartphone standards), but it is worth every penny if you really depend on scheduling and you get the bonus of supporting worthwhile Dewar Wildlife gorilla project. If you liked Datebk6 (same developer) with Palm Desktop, this is finally that caliber of a calendar for Android, particularly when paired with the desktop program (purchased separately). Highly recommended.

For Galaxy S3 - from Slovenia Bad, worn out icons, where is the visible and usable menu? Poor, comparable to very old DateBook for palm! Payed for what?

Just got it, and it was like having my old PDA again... I missed my old friend.

Fantastic Calendar Application Works well On my Galaxy Slll and Note 2. I also fondly remember Palm and this Android iteration delivers most of the configurations and functionality including choice of month, week, day or list views with task well integrated into the program. I would like to see improved "linked contacts" impimentation and easier sync with PC. As a stand alone calendar application this one is difficult to beat!

Better than android calendar but needs faster load Much easier to pick times than default android calendar app. Love templates for quick addition of canned appointments (I use it when making allergy shots appointments) Love the week view. Sometimes takes up to 30 seconds to startup on my HTC Thunderbolt while it reads/caches google calendar. This is the only thing that keeps me from rating it 5 stars. P.S. - Longtime Datebk+/Pimlical user from Palm world.

Finally, it has arrived! Where's the drum roll? Super granular Calendar worthy to fit on Android. Get it ASAP! Thanks!

Almost There

Hmmm? As a former datebook user /lover I had high hopes for this app. But after struggling with it for 5 weeks, I personally find that there is still a lot of room for improvement. I purchased the desktop version as well, however, my razr maxx will not connect via desktop. Has problems finding the phone. After hours of research into yahoo forums there seems to be a not so easy fix but it is in no way a quick fix. Don't get me wrong, I very much enjoy pimlical but for the price of the app & desktop; it should Work

This app has more features than most people will need. From simple to the most complex schedule, this app can handle your scheduling needs.

My DROID is complete! Been waiting a long time for this and it's finally here. Ever since I left the palm platform I had been wishing the DROID had datebook6. Started with datebook3 and went through all versions till 6. Calenders don't get any better than this. Tried all the other calendar apps and none compare to this! Recommendation: Buy it!

Ugly and clunky Loved this app for ever on my Palm Treo and kept hoping and waiting for it to come to Android. Now that it has come, I find it has not transitioned well. It is ugly and cumbersome. To my amazement I find that not even killer features like floating events (how I miss them) have been able to keep me using this app on Android. Unless you are a diehard fan pining for the good old days and cannot live without the advanced features of Datebook, don't bother.

OMG, it's finally here Palm calendar, updated, made better.

by A Google User the 11/16/2012

Fantastic I used datebk on a palm years ago, and relied completely on it. This works very similarly, and is a huge improvement over the native calendar app. Basically, it does everything I could want a calendar app to do.

Best Calendar Ever Many advanced options make of this a unique professional tools for keeping your calendar in the most efficient, practical and flexible way. I love working with it. I have used it since it was available for Palm. It should be the core calendar for all Apple devices... I hope it will be soon available for iOS.

by A Google User the 11/9/2012

Very customizable - worth EVERY penny I've also paid for this app several times on it's various platforms - been using it since my Palm Pilot days. My favorite feature is the floating event which moves events forward until you check them off as complete, and the event can be repeated from checkoff date. Perfect for dispensing those expensive heartworm pills for my dog. Yes, there's a learning curve, but it's we'll worth the effort. The developer is very responsive to support issues and input. You won't be disappointed with this app.

Best calendar yet I've used this calendar since Datebk 2 on my Palm III and Pimlical beta on my. Hero. It is absolutely the only one worth it--I've bought it from CESD and now from Google. Do yourself and the gorillas a favor and get this PIM.

by A Google User the 11/5/2012

Must have Cal app for Android Had DateBk on my Palm OS; by far the GREATEST app I've ever had. Customizable to the hilt. I' very tried them ALL. With the desktop my time management is quick and easy. I never recommend apps but this one is the only one I would. Also the developer uses the donations to find the Gorilla Project.

by A Google User the 11/2/2012

Worth the price If anyone thinks the price is a little steep, I paid almost thrice as much for DateBk6 and considered it to be my Treo's most essential app which gave me fantastic control over my calendar and tasks. This could seem a daunting app for the uninitiated but it's really easy to use right off the bat. However, reading the manual from cover to cover at least once will bring huge rewards and every subsequent re-read will turn up another valuable gem. It may at first seem a little 'raw' look-wise but one will soon realize that the layout is perfectly logical and efficient just the way it is. I'm truly relieved that it's finally available on Android.

love this software, been a fan since my palm daze Great program! Its not cheap, but the money goes to a great cause and developer. Well worth the $9.95.
