Works quite well I compare the result of this with a blood pressure monitor and this gives me 2 points down. But its really acceptable. Excellent work thanks.

Worthless I tried this while I had a hospital-grade pulse oximeter on my other hand. This showed readings from 33 to 129, while the pulse ox held steady at 78.

Why phone use and LED damage? Why does a heart rate monitor need access calls to my phone? Is having the flash LED on for so long reducing its life? (I'll email this to developer)

Works great on the Droid X I think how well this app works for you is going to depend on your hardware. What it does is turn on the flash for the camera and then detect small changes in the color of your skin as your heart beats. This is obviously very delicate and can be thrown off if you don't do it just right. For starters you have to be very still and figure out the optimal placement of your finger. Also, ideally, the flash will be right next to the camera lens. On the wrong type of hardware this app will be useless.
