SSHDroidPro is a SSH server implementation for Android.
This application will let you to connect to your device from a PC and execute commands (like "terminal" and "adb shell") or copy/edit files (through SFTP, WinSCP, Cyberduck, etc...).

Root is optional but not required to run this application.

Windows users:
- File Transfer: WinSCP (http://winscp.net).
- Remote Shell: PuTTY (http://goo.gl/XbTF)

Linux users:
- File Transfer: natively supported by most file managers (like Nautilus or Dolphin), just enter the sftp address displayed as "Location".
- Remote Shell: run 'ssh' from the terminal.

Mac users:
- File Transfer: Cyberduck (http://cyberduck.ch).
- Remote Shell: run 'ssh' from the terminal

FAQs:
q: Why my transfer speed decrease when I turn off the screen?
a: Enable the option 'Lock Wifi'. If your device is running at least Android 2.3.x, you should get full speed transfer even when the screen is off, otherwise enable the option 'Lock screen' too.

q: How can I use a shared key with Putty/Winscp?
a: You have to generate a key from the application in OpenSSH format and use Puttygen to import/convert it in ppk format. A recent version of Puttygen (>= 0.61) is required!

Not working on VZW Galaxy Nexus The program starts, but my logcat shows that ICS is ignoring the 'old API'. Program starts, password is set (simple, no complex characters), shows that it starts on the interface with no errors, my computer can ping it, but PuTTY can't connect to it. My NG is unlocked, and rooted, but still running the stock ROM. Works GREAT on my OG DROID running CM7, and most recently Liquid Smooth 2.3.7), and on my ViewSonic Gtablet running GtabComb Bought and tried the QuickSSH server and had much the same issue as above. I still gave it five stars because I realize that the Galaxy Nexus (CDMA LTE) came out two days ago (in the USA 2011/12/15), and people with the new GN need to know that there are still issues with some apps.

Stuck with it. Installed when Market purchases were flakey and couldn't get a refund. The non-pro version forces you to disable ad blocking to try it - very sleazy.
