--- What's special about AtHome Camera App?

AtHome Camera not only allows you to watch live video images from home (via 3G, EDGE or WIFI), but also let you to remotely start/stop video recording, and to play back recorded H.264 video on your smart phone.  More advanced features: pre-scheduled recording, motion triggered recording, email notification, audio recording, continuously upload images by email, event logging, etc.

--- What can I do if I see something important (like a burglary)?

You can just press the record switch on your smart phone to immediately start video recording on your computer, at full frame rate in H.264 format. Later, you can remotely stream back the recorded video onto your smart phone, just like Youtube.
  
--- Can I record video if I’m not watching my smart phone? I cannot stare at it all day waiting for something to happen.

Yes, you can specify two PRE-SCHEDULED TIME INTERVALS each day to automatically start/stop video recording. Want to check if your kids are home when they’re supposed to? Schedule the recording to start at 3 o'clock!

--- What if I don’t happen to see, and I don't know when,  something is going to happen?

We are aware that no one watches their phones 24/7, so we support MOTION DETECTION! Video recording will be AUTOMATICALLY triggered if the motion activity is above a USER-DEFINED threshold.

--- So what happens if something does happen? How will I know immediately??

You can configure the server to send you an email when something happens or when the motion detection is triggered.  

--- But, worst case scenario, what if someone takes my computer away?

WELL, if you are really worried about the recorded vide images, you can set up AtHome Server so that it continually uploads images to an email account (like Gmail, with a large storage) in case motion is triggered. This way, even if your computer is lost or stolen, the images will already be uploaded to the 'cloud'.

--- That’s so cool, how many cameras can I manage?

Each computer can connect up to 4 webcams (Mac OS version of the streaming server supports one camera at a time for now), and you can manage as many computers as you wish (for the home, office, etc) .

--- Well, is it secure??

All authentication connections between your smart phone and the streaming server are encrypted. All login information and images are transferred strictly only between your computer and your smart phone.  

--- Is it easy to use? Can I control everything remotely on my smart phone?

All you need to do is to download and install the AtHome Server onto your computer, then start the server and specify your user name and password. After login from your smart phone, you can remotely change camera resolution, frame rate, when to start or stop recording, when to enable motion detection, and etc.

--- Is it easy to set up?

When first time to run the AtHome Server, you can register the server to get a CID (Connection ID). Then on your smart phone side, you can just use this CID to connect to the server, no need to worry about IP address, port forwarding etc. on your router or firewall.

--- Finally, are there any limitations I should know about?

Yes, please note that IP-based network cameras are NOT supported.
