With imo instant messenger, it’s easy to stay in touch with friends on your existing IM accounts on Facebook Chat, Google Talk, Skype, MSN, ICQ/AIM, Yahoo, Jabber, and Myspace.

With imo beta, users can preview and try new and experimental IM features. However, the beta app is less stable than the official imo instant messenger app. For the latest stable version, download our official app at https://market.android.com/details?id=com.imo.android.imoim.

We're actively adding new features to the beta app, so please send us feedback to android@imo.im. We read every email!

Standard features:
- No need to create an account with imo
- Concurrent sessions on different devices
- Option to save chat history to imo.im
- Voice IMs
- Group chat
- Send multimedia attachments - audio, video, files

Why we ask for permissions:

INTERNET: connect to imo servers
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: react to network changes so we can reconnect
VIBRATE: for notifications
RECORD_AUDIO: for voice IMs
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: auto start on boot
INSTALL_SHORTCUT: create home screen shortcuts
WAKE_LOCK: very short term partial cpu lock to make sure messages are sent and received while phone is sleeping
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: for caching pictures
GET_ACCOUNTS: to prefill your email address during registration for the IMO Network
READ_CONTACTS: to read phone-book contacts; only used when you choose to invite friends
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: keep wifi awake while sending messages

Great Job!! This app is very good. But the only thing, is, it would be great if it had more features and color, but still does the job.

Perfect, but a battery hog. Links multiple accounts at once. Can even link to Steam which is a nice surprise. But this is a HUGE battery hog! Be careful your not using the program if you don't need it. Logs into all accounts on start up by default, so u might want to play with the settings when u first use it. Other than the power usage it's a great app.

Awesome app! A few bugs, but awesome! Chats not getting cleared as read. Would love a dark theme. When select away...not staying on that. Would love to pick who you were available /away/invisible too, and what account you were also! The voice IM doesn't always work. Would be better if you didn't have to hold button down to record. Just touch to turn off and on. Thank you for NO ads! Recommended to all my friends!
