I created Car Cast to help me deal with my hour long commute. I use it every day, I love it - but hey, it's my baby. Feel free to try it out and let me know what you think.

Car Cast is a simple audio podcast downloader and player. Optimized for use in a daily commute, it features big buttons, large text, remembers last played location. CarCast is open source software.

1. Subscribe to podcasts
2. Download podcasts (stored on flash card)
3. Playback in car/gym (no network needed)

Best free podcast app I've found. I like that it's simple. Lots of podcast apps try to get too fancy and the core features suffer but this strikes a perfect balance of features and usability. My only complaint is that the interface is kind of ugly.

Easy to use - Full featured A perfect app to listen to a few podcast. Very easy to use. Lightweight app. After the dismissal of Google Reader, I would have liked to import an OPML file.

Great app Brilliant, it does exactly what I need to play podcasts on my car commute! Only improvement I'd like is user-defined fwd/back amounts (I like 30 secs fwd but would prefer only 10 secs back).
