Screebl is an innovative application that controls power saving features based on how you hold your phone.  Never have the screen turn off again while reading a long email, or looking at a picture.  Keep the screen on (or off, it's up to you) during phone calls.  Configure every aspect of the application until it matches your precise usage patterns.

Get your Screen on!  Screebl is an application that controls your screen based on orientation.  Never have the screen turn off again while using your phone, and SAVE BATTERY too.  It's possible with Screebl!

Screebl works based on a simple observation:  we generally hold our phones or tablets in roughly the same positions when we're using them.  Screebl uses the accelerometer in your mobile device to detect how you're holding your phone, and when your device is within a configurable range, the screen is kept on.  Move out of that range, and Screebl releases the lock and the screen is allowed to go off.  It sounds simple (and it is), but it works amazingly well!

How does Screebl save power?  Well, it's simple.  On most phones, the screen is the single largest consumer of battery power.  With Screebl running you can reduce the average amount of time that your screen is on by only keeping it on when you're ACTUALLY using your phone. Disables on-call on-phone screen ear-detect Great product. My phone (HTC EVO 4g LTE) won't let me use any other apps while on the phone, as it detects my finger as being held up against my ear. Screeble disables this when the phone is held in my standard position. It also does save battery life. Suggestions for improvement: (1) label the diagrams not only as 0-90 degrees, but 0 degrees: flat (flat on back, screen up) and 90 degrees (vertical) to avoid questions of coordinate origin (took me a while to figure this out for sure). (2) allow not only an "invert" for lying down but a "rotate" (duplicate sensor angle range, rotated by 90 degrees). When sitting and holding, I hold up a few degrees from flat. When lying with my head propped up, I tilt it a few degrees from vertical towards me. This is more of a duplication or rotation than an inversion. It might also be nice to have a control for this tilted-forward-of-vertical angle so people could configure both for sitting/standing, and separately for lying. Regardless, a great app. I should have downloaded it a long time ago.

Essential Awesome. Great in combo with Juice Defender and Lux, solving the biggest battery drainers, the screen and 4g cell connection. Especially great for AMOLED screens. Makes my phone easier to use. Screen on when you want it on, off when you want it off! I am using the beta version of Screebl, because this doesn't work properly on 4.1, but I'm OK with that because the beta is great and I just wanted to support the developer!

Good idea, poor execution Great idea, but it lacks proximity sensor integration. Orientation is always out of range in bed even with the most relaxed settings and the inverse range option doesn't help. It's won't lock if you put it down on a pile of clothes at an angle, and you can't put it down on a desk and read.

After MONTHS of beta testing ...this supposedly "new" version throws everything back to square one - where are all the power saving improvements & changes tested and tweaked during beta testing? What happened to this jewel? The last change log reffers to v.2.3.0 (works on FroYo) - come on, please!!

This is outdated If you're having problems with this version, use "Screeble beta". The beta has a bunch of compatibility improvements and will eventually be rolled into this version. However, the beta does NOT have support for the motion sensor option that is in this version, so if this (non beta version) works OK on your tablet/phone, no need to update.

Does what I bought it for, mostly Each day, it saves several pushes on my RAZR's cheap power switch. Occasionally, it fails to recognizes that I'm holding it in the active position, and turns the phone until I open the adjustment setting. Then it starts and keeps working for a reasonable time.
