Fun Brings me back to my new days

Very fun free RPG There are lots of elements missing, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the game. The tiny map is my biggest grip. That said, I'm off to buy the sequel :).

Needs more monsters!

Excellent time waster A neat little homage to the original 8-bit RIG. Excellent at wasting time at work. Easy to save and switch off, but hard to put down.

Kickin' it Old School I absolutely love Gurk. I grew up on the original Ultima games and other top down sprite based RPGs on my Apple IIe. I've been able to revisit some of those using emulators, but Gurk is, in my mind, the first new work to truly capture the flavor and style of those old games. The interface is clean and simple, easy to understand and to use. Don't mistake - the plot is thin and the functions of the game basic, but that is not a determent to the game but rather part of its charm. It is also worth mentioning that the game requests no special permissions to run. In this day when so many so-called free apps are dodgy and make you wonder what kind of personal information they're stealing, it's wonderful to see something that is nothing more than what it appears.
