GV SMS Integration is an app that seamlessly adds Google Voice messaging capabilities (Send and Receive) to Android’s built-in SMS system.

With the app, SMS can be sent via your Google Voice number in addition to carrier number right in system’s SMS app; new incoming GV messages are notified and processed as system's SMS alongside with carrier SMS. Enjoy a true free unlimited SMS messaging experience with your favorite SMS app, including the built-in MobileSMS.

Now the extension supports receiving Push notifications from Official GV App as native SMS messages.

It's fully compatible with Google 2 Step Authentication.

Google Voice SMS Integration will integrate your GV account with your Android. It will allow you to send and receive text messages via the stock messaging & GoSMS Pro messaging application.

It uses your data plan for sending and receiving text messages. For paying only $4.99 one time, you will have free text plan via Google Voice on your phone.

Since GV SMS Integration uses your data plan / WIFI to send and receive text messages, you won't be charged by your carrier. (Note : This is true only for sending and receiving text messages via Google Voice. If you receive a text to your regular number, you will still be charged by your carrier.)

You can setup a list to send text messages to certain contacts via Google Voice, and other ones via your carrier.

You can also reply to texts based on where the text was received from. If you receive a text to your Google Voice number, your reply will automatically go from your GV account. If you receive a text to your carrier number, your reply will go through the carrier.

Google Voice application needs to be installed on your phone in order to use this application.

Since this app integrates with Android system, it won't work on some of the custom/modified Android ROMs. If you are running on a custom ROM, you can install the free version of the app first to make sure it runs on your phone.If you don't know what a custom or modified ROM is, then you most likely have stock android rom on your phone, and this application will work fine on your phone.

This application pretty much does the same thing as GV Extension on iPhone.

NOTES :
Popup notifications in GoSMS is not supported yet. You will receive a regular notification instead in GoSMS.

All's Fair in Google Voice Integration & Android I'm rating it 5 stars because, even though it's not perfect, there's nothing else like it (far as I can tell). I have the paid version. I use it because the Google Voice app is slow, and I read texts via bluetooth in my car (the car's bluetooth only reads texts received through the native messaging app). Texts sent via the native messaging application DO show up in Google Voice on my desktop. Now I just need to find a way for texts I send from Google Voice on my desktop to show up in the native messaging app on my phone. Rock on.

Highly unstable Good but highly unstable. Works fine for a month then all of a sudden I can't send SMS or it spends days sending them. I've had to in/reinstall several times and it works again temporarily. Don't even bother contacting the dev, you'll get no reply.

Not working well on my Nexus 4 running 4.2.1 This app does add messages to the default messaging app, but there are no notifications (except the usual ones from the google voice app). Messages do send, but this app is rather useless without notifications. Definitely not worth the $5. Even the developer's website doesn't work so I wouldn't count on any updates to fix these bugs.

No longer compatible Doesn't work with the latest version of Google voice for me. Gets text messages, but SMS app doesn't display notifications. Couldn't nandroid backup while enabled. Great idea, but until Google does it themselves this is pretty hacky.

Paid app works for me I'm on Nexus 4/4.2. I previously had the free version using native Messaging app and the notifications didn't work. I installed the paid version and it works as it should BUT with double nortifications. I have these settings 1) GV: notifications off, receive messages via messaging app, 2) Messaging app: notifications on, 3) GV Integration: send messages via voice, integration type standard, notifications to messaging app.

Works so so. Sends texts to my normal msg app but doesn't give notifications which makes it kinda worthless when you don't know you've got a text

Don't Waste Your Money The app doesn't work half the time and even when it does it's usually very slow.

Good App Been using this app for several months now - works very well, with some quirks. In Jellybean (4.1.2) quick reply does not work for sending through Google Voice. The app sometimes force closes, and sometimes stops working altogether (with no warning or notification as to why). I have found that when that happens, all that is needed to fix it is just to open the Google Voice application. As far as I can tell, this app is no longer being developed.

If you have JB or a custom ROM do not buy this. This app works somewhat with a stock rom but it is a complete miss with a custom rom. ESPECIALLY AOKP ones. Since I purchased it, it has worked for a total of a month on STOCK ROMS. The developer will not contact you back for any reason. If you've recently purchased headlight oil or a second transmission for your vehicle, this app is for you! You can send just fine but for the life of it, it will NOT receive to your messages.app. It used to tho...But it hasn't been updated since Jesus was here. Hey you...yea, you. It's gonna be a "refund" for you too. Don't push the button trust me...
