With Surveyor, you can measure distances by placing markers on a virtual ground that is overlaid on the camera image.

Surveyor locks the virtual ground to the real world so no matter which direction you turn to, the markers will always stay where it is originally placed.

Distances between each markers are calculated and displayed on the screen in the unit system you specified. With the pro version you can place more than 2 markers and even get the area of the space surrounded by the markers.

no instructions on how to use I tapped the beginning mark but nothing happened. I walked a distance and got no reading. Lousy app.

Has no option for orientation! Works on phone but not tablet. The floor is sideways no matter what. No option to change. Useless on tablet.

Handy Don't always have a tape measure on me, but I always have my phone! Wouldn't trust it for exact measurements tho.

Looks great, difficult to figure out Too high a learning curve for as little as I would use it. If I needed something like this on an everyday basis, I'd take the time to figure it out. As it is, I've spent more time figuring out how it works, tweaking the technique than if I just pulled out a tape measure and did it myself.
