Use this application to block background data over the 2G network.
The background data will only be available when you are in range of the 3G network (and higher).

This app is not blocking the MMS APN.

If you do not understand what this program is doing or you do not need this app - please don't download it.

Remember to DISABLE the 3G Data Only! before uninstall.

Works well. Provider locking would be nice extra I am using this app to prevent my HTC Desire to switch to 2G, since that may cause SOD issues. Works well for this. However, it would be nice if it could also disable the data connection when switching to another provider (to save costs). Normally, one could disable roaming in Android. However, I have a Telfort SIM, which connects to the KPN network (Netherlands). So, roaming has to be enabled continuously, which is a problem when I cross the border. Would be great if provider locking would be added.

Seems to work. I use for blocking 2g data when streaming video using the playon app.

Works. @Ezra, it's not designed to force 3G. Get 2G/3G switch for that. I use 2G 3G cdma network. HTC Incredible 2.2 Verizon

Only app I could find that does this, wish could remove the notification icon though, works perfectly as described.
