Description from the Market

QuickSSHd, based on dropbear sshd, allows you to easily configure and run a Secure Shell/SSH Server. Connect to your phone from your PC and execute commands or transfer files. Similar to "Terminal" or "adb shell" but over the network.

File transfer to sdcard by scp or SFTP (Secure FTP, WinSCP, Cyberduck).

Root is optional

Doesn't work on Galaxy Nexus Have emailed the development team. I have a rooted Galaxy Nexus and cannot get ssh working. it shows my IP and port to use but no putty/sftp apps can actually get a connection.

Yippee- MTP be damned!! -Galaxy Nexus - Lifesaver! Can I make a resounding happy *sigh* - something finally will help me with my Galaxy Nexus's MTP restriction. Absolutely REQUIRED for the gNexus and Linux. MTP?? what a pain. I wish I'd found this 12Gb ago of painful downloads!!! Lifesaver to say the least.

I experience extreme lag... Using a terminal on Linux to connect remotely to the ssh daemon produces huge delays when entering text from remote terminal. I am able to type entire lines before the text actually appears. SSHdroid runs fine. Any ideas?

Great App-- Highly recommend Works perfectly. Verizon Galaxy Nexus. I tried the Ad-supported sshdroid and it worked once and then refused connections. Required a re-install each time to start working again. QuickSSHd is $1.50 very well spent.

Much easier than fumbling with Terminal Terminal Emulators are great in a pinch, but when I've got the option I much prefer to SSH into my phone and use a real keyboard. Even better is using SCP from my desktop to transfer stuff to/from the SD Card without needing to hook up a USB cable. Combine with ConnectBot for even more options, like reverse port forwarding to get to your phone while not on WiFi.

Exactly what I needed I found the "How to connect to device with SSH" on the Cyanogenmod wiki and thought jeez, there's got to be an easier way to get a terminal connection to your phone. Yep, there is, and this is it.

Super useful app - love the widgets. Very dependable; all features work great. (Now I just need to work out what rc file gets sourced on login so automatically start a nicer shell.) Use this with Wifi File Transfer and Hoccer for easy transfers for range of use cases. Boy I love driving handset shell from "real" keyboards within my normal environments. Should have installed this on first day with new phone; well worth the price.
