This app can be used to both have your incoming SMS messages and incoming calls read to you so that you can obey hands free laws. I guess obeying the law isn't the only use for this app; having messages read aloud by your phone can be quite entertaining at parties ...
Additionally, eCID can also help you screen your incoming phone calls. Don't want to bother with 'Private' callers? Ignore them. Don't feel like talking to people that are not in your contacts? Ignore them too! Feeling social? Then stop ignoring those calls!
eCID uses the Text-to-speech functionality of your android phone to speak to you so make sure to enable and set that up first!
To be safe, Android OS 2.0 or greater is a requirement. Also, please check for and enable TTS on your phone (in the Settings menu).
