You should buy MyBackup Pro for $2.99 and you can backup your, sms, call log, contacts, settings, apps, and restore it if you lose your phone

I've used it. Simple and straight forward, does what it says. Also it seems both android and pc parts constantly improving and offering more features.

Not free. Lie. Requires you to pay for Handy Backup for PC. Not only that...it's hugely over priced.
