GoPenS is an OpenSource GPS based on OpenStreetMap (OSM).
It works like many other GPS, you can browse a map, calculate an itinerary, display POIs or record a track and send it as a GPX file to the OSM server.
The source code is freely available on our subversion repository: http://gopens.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/gopens/

does what it says. could remember last location and cache map when closed and/or stay open in background, but at least it works...
