This application adds a new share type for contacts: "Share via SMS".

The standard Android distribution lacks this feature by default, but this application will add it for you. Simply choose sms when sharing a contact, select which fields to include and an SMS will be created for you.

Works ok but removes the plus sign from numbers formatted for international numbers.
