mOCRa (mobile OCR application) allows you to extract text and generate searchable PDF files from the pictures taken with your phone. In this way mOCRa acts as a mobile scanner with Optical Character Recognitions abilities and PDF generation capabilities. The extracted text can be edited, saved, sent by email even the searchable PDF file attached or sent to Google search service directly from the application. mOCRa uses internet connection to make the OCR process and PDF generation. Please, take this into account if you use a mobile connection with an associated data plan.

Currently, it supports text extraction on the following languages:

* English
* German
* Italian
* French
* Spanish
* Portuguese
* Russian (experimental, no PDF generation)

Why use a data connection Honestly, why would you need a data connection to do ocr? There goes using it on those confidential papers I wanted to scan /s.

One shot wonder Downloaded, installed, configured. Worked OK once, but when I tried again, it "stopped unexpectedly" and continued to do so over multiple attempts.

Needs improvement, like option for selecting the area in image to be converted to text and pdf.

I would have liked it to be able to convert pdf files too, not just images, and save text as a .doc file. Apart from that, great!

does what it promises.good accuracy at ocr..only hope it could be faster. "sending to server" takes ages

Looks nice. It has even it's own camera picture capturing module, but that is where it's coolness stops. Bad thing is that it is so F!@#ING slow!

Meh, it doesn't process the pictures on the phone, it uses the data connection to send them on their servers.

awesome app. dont mind peoples comments saying its terrible. on printed docs it works with about 80% accuracy. good enough. its free.
