UPDATE

A new update has been published to fix some UI issues (such as the map dialog list background colour), bus service sorting and adding the * back to denote estimated buses. A couple of crash fixes and performance enhancements have been added.

IMPORTANT: If you are having problems with the application, the most useful thing you can do is e-mail the developer about it so I know and can fix it. If you don't tell me, I won't find out.

Download the latest version of the official Edinburgh bus tracking application for Android. This application will let you view live bus departures for Lothian Buses services in Edinburgh, Scotland.

For those on older versions of the app, you MUST upgrade to continue using the app because of server changes, otherwise the app will stop working for you.

My Bus Edinburgh has the following features from previous versions;

* View up to the next 4 departures for each bus service at each stop covered by Lothian Buses.
* Keep a list of your favourite bus stops to easily revisit them later.
* Ability to manually enter a bus stop code found at all bus stops to show live times for that stop.
* Fully integrated Google Maps which can show your location as well as nearby bus stops. Also, the map is fully searchable so you can search for places and bus stop names. Includes voice search from Google.
* Get the latest traffic and journey news from the Lothian Buses Twitter feed.
* The ability to change some application preferences.
* And more...

...and new in the latest version;

* The user interface has had a total overhaul, the app should look pretty now. Includes partial Honeycomb/Ice Cream Sandwich support, more coming later.
* Favourite bus stops can now be saved to the home screen on your device for opening easily later.
* QR code scanning support.
* EXPERIMENTAL FEATURES: The ability to add proximity and bus time alerts.
* Nearest bus stops listing using the device's current location.
* Bus service filtering in bus stop map view and nearest bus stop listing.
* Revised look of bus times display also showing how old the data is.
* Loading of bus times should be more reliable and quicker.
* Preferences reorganised and new preferences added - check them out.
* The bus stop map now links to Google Street View.
* Changes to bus stop backup system. If you have made a backup before, you should now make a new backup as the old one is incompatible.
* Many more little fixes and enhancements.

Explanation of permissions;

- Network based and GPS locations: used in the bus stop map and nearest bus stops listing to find your location.
- Internet access: used to load bus times, update the bus stop database and load news.
- SD card: backups of favourites are stored here.
- Vibrate: used for alerts.

Disclaimer: this application does not support any other operator in Edinburgh than Lothian Buses (because it is not possible to from a technical stance). The data comes straight from the My Bus Tracker service. While The City of Edinburgh Council and Lothian Buses endorse this app, they do not take any responsibility for it.

All data given by the application is a computational estimation and as such, should be treated as a guide only.
