VCOrganizer Lite

Not "lite" its a TRIAL version I was about to give it 3 stars but then again it has "lite" in the title, not "Trial". This TRIAL works well enough but too expensive for what it is and no warning its about to expire. TouchDown much better but it doesn't sync to PC. VcOrganizer does NOT have USB sync, it uses USB tethering which is painful. It then charges even more for the bluetooth support which is the only way of pain free sync (and this is a major part of why I'm not buying it).

PcAutoWaker

Great apart from always running in background BUG: even if not automatically sending packets on wifi connection, it runs in the background. Other than that it doesn't work for my DELL XPS16, but that is DELL's fault (I may not but another DELL laptop because of the missing bios options). This app would be great if my laptop supported it.

Safe? Needed? Rebbot fixes and is safe. Not convinced its safe or needed. A reboot generally fixes my issues.

WOLdroid WOL Wake On Lan

Horrible As it doesn't say how the MAC adress should be ented that might be what is wrong, I entered it as all hexadecimal digits, there is a red circle which I'm guessing should be green. clicklong the green power button does nothing and no status messages result indicating what its doing and success or failure. Uninstall, there has to be better available.

Quota

Smart Concept, Poor Implementation Concept very smart, implementation extremely average. Over time more and more failing (probably due to complete lack of updates) and little support. Its notifications are completely useless and widgets don't always show what you'd want) but hopefully improve with updates (sometime...). It does work well for my Optus Cable Account, just as well just about everything else is no longer working and this is the only reason I'm not giving it one star... The free version only allows one profile but that doesn't have to be local data, its just very cryptic, instead of deleting and adding what you want you have to CHANGE the existing profile. ABANDONED BY AUTHOR?

3D Compass

Nice looking but Drains Battery Very nice looking compass. However it runs in background and prevents the device sleeping (drains battery). You don't even need to have started the app as it happens immediately after reboot also.

OurGroceries

Good but no notes or photos Cloud sync/backup, can edit on web page or phone. Share the lists across multiple users/phones. My main complaint is that there are no no photos or notes fields (still looking for alternatives with these features). No bar code support but I can live with that.

Ringtone Picker

Changes default ringtone! The search is dodgy under ICS as the keyboard doesn't always come up and WORSE it doesn't work, it changes the phones default ringtone rather than returning the ringtone to the invoker, which for example, means that you can't set a per contact ringtone, or set ringtones for apps EVER. Note "Tone Picker - MP3 Ringtones" app works.

KeePassDroid

Excellent product but needs write to V2 databases Finally got sick enough of the unsupported buggy SplashId to convert to KeePass+DropBox+KeePassDroid. The app now supports v2 custom fields :-) If if supported write access to V2 databases then I'd give it 5 stars.

Cheetah Sync for Files/Folders

Too limited, Also ended up with 2 versions running This app has many options but doesn't handle multiple sync PC/phone pairs in single vlan. I have to dislike the app until its fixed as it prevents both me and my wife using it. Now using "SyncMe".

Room for improvement but still EXCELLENT! Love the shortcut to invoke the app prefilled. Don't like the (default) email subject name and name of attachment, they should include the date & time.

WiFi Keyboard

Highly Recommended. Must Have Keyboard App Not perfect but its very easy to copy/paste some stuff from computer into the phone (for example from my KeePass key safe). And better yet with the change to how the [F4] key works you can even go from the phone to the PC! The [F4] key now copies entire field to browser for editing. Highly recommended. The kbd input swap widget is also handy.

GPS Location & Message center

Shouldn't save 0,0 as my coordinates! Quick test, saves invalid GPS coord (in doors), obviously doesn't fall back to coarse coords. I don't want a "database view" but I may wish to see "favourites" or "saved locations"... Wait for the next version perhaps.

Calendar Snooze

Needs some work but great overall Has some issues with setting vibrate and other options but works really well. the way HTC's Sense works (when it does) is vastly inferior to my old Motorola Milestone's and this app has been reliable and easy to use. Needs a settings backup which author says is on the todo list. Agree with others that $5 is too much but will probably pay it anyway.
