Comments and Reviews by Janis

Meteor Shower Calendar

Unique & reliable, lightwieght to boot Not a iIdiot app, but not hard to use either. Blasted through too many other services on my SGS to keep me in the loop. Perfect. Links and API implementation are ingenious!

by futuregramma the 3/14/2012
Compass

Ain't it great ... when people rate an app 1 star when all that's being released is crappy compass hard/firmware? The last great compass I has was my G1. I find this app indespensible to check when a ROM is doing well, or not, compass-wise.

by futuregramma the 3/9/2012
WiFi TXpower

Still pretty rough It would be nice if we could at least dl iwconfig with the app and then move it. It's a great hack if you're used to hacking. If not, and/or your battery life is ok w/o another 20 or so min. on a charge, don't bother.

by futuregramma the 3/8/2012
SwipePad: Hyperspace Jump

Can't live without it Breaks the brightness controls in ICS. Not much point in putting Qbright shortcut in SwipePad.... Wish I could custom size/position hotspots.

by futuregramma the 3/2/2012
Kids Piano

Really shouldn't have "piano" in the title.... With the exception that the instrument is actually a GLOCKENSPIEL (oy), it's pretty good. Beginning reading and solfege, even.

by futuregramma the 2/29/2012
Cloud Print

Create your *own* PDFs: CP -> Bullzip -> DropBox It works reliably with an HP Wifi printer and an Epson printer plugged in via USB to PC. [So far I can send a job to Bullzip from a PC, but not from this mobile app. Job gets stuck in the queue. SOLVED: Deleted Bullzip printer, sign out of Cloud Print, reboot PC, let PC Chrome recreate Bullzip printer. XD ] Remember to donate to "free" apps you use, like Bullzip. Nothing's free; it's worth it to pay in a way that you know you're paying, rather than a "free," personal-data-access way you aren't aware of.

by futuregramma the 2/20/2012
Elixir 2

I'm sorry, I really like the new look. I find it intuitive as well. It may be the flat look is where Google is going (e.g. the new browser calendar & Gmail looks), so it follws that ICS would go that route as well. I personally appreciate the lower memory load of simpler graphics. I never did like the black shiny tube look of Windows Mobile 6 that HTC latched onto. Elixir 2 works wonders on my TPT, and looks good doing it.

by futuregramma the 2/17/2012
Greed (Lite)

If it works on your gadget, and what you want... to do is read, then this is perfect. No glitz, pure info. Great for professional journals and heady content. Very straightforward. Has worked absolutely reliably on G1, SGS, and it's phenomenal on my TPT.

by futuregramma the 2/14/2012
SymbolsKeyboard & TextArt Pro

Woke up my family when I launched. A keyboard app doesn't need blaring music. If that doesn't go away, I will. Sorry. Cjeesy prentation of text art does it no jiustice.

by futuregramma the 2/14/2012
Memoires: The Diary

Why read log data? To fix bugs. Just because you can send a log doesn't mean developers actually care about your details, or could use them without repercussions. I love that I can sync this with DropSync! (Better hurry, I've only got 499.8 years left...)

by futuregramma the 2/10/2012
SketchBook Mobile

Good, but focused on gloss (sales) rather than functionality The small-screen version is further along than the tablet version. Needs resizing; you get one presized rectangle, that's it. I'm frustrated.

by futuregramma the 1/11/2012
Baviux

Sweet! Now I don't have to go to the dentist Grav not working so well; it really only kicks in on the way up (T959), which is, of course, not when I want to correct trajectory (nor realistic). Very cute/fam friendly.

by futuregramma the 12/31/2011
Car Locator

I understand it needing contacts & internet permissions but why does it need my phone number and that of whomever I call? I can't find any explanation of permissions, and the updates are incessant.

by futuregramma the 12/17/2011
eWallet

Yes, it's about time. I'm glad they finally got it done. I've already switched my list app, tho. Too late on that one.

by futuregramma the 12/12/2011
IVONA Text-to-Speech HQ

Not reliable, sounds great. Skips just about every time. Nav couldn't find a voice at all with this set as default. I'm looking forward to a fully fuctional IVONA!

by futuregramma the 12/11/2011
Dropsync

Love it so far. It really works. I do wish it I could except sub-directories from syncing (e.g. sync my whole dropbox, upload photos, but not have /sd/dropbox/dcim and /sd/dcim).

by futuregramma the 12/11/2011
Tesla Plushies

The whole idea of adding difficulty by obcring stuff with fingers on a touch screen is brilliant. It's more like a finger Wii (etc) than any touch-screen game I've played. Not for the feint of heart. You can't just figure it out, you have to do it.

by futuregramma the 12/1/2011
QBright

Always reflects actual brightness where other similar apps don't. Great, simple UI. Preset buttons are perfect.

by futuregramma the 11/30/2011
Mileage

It works for mpg, but not much else for me. The extended calculations are off, and the comments field doesn't get backed up, even with TB. Thinking of switching to SheadSpreet for this.

by futuregramma the 11/30/2011
Lockscreen Calendar

SGS on Revolution ROM works At least on first try. If it doesn't, I'll check back. I'm thrilled! I really don't need to be notified that I get up at 7 every morning....

by futuregramma the 11/15/2011
Due Today

THE Toodledo app for Android. Wish I could set reminders for this from my pc somehow. But I can do everything I need to inside this app.

by futuregramma the 11/7/2011
Virtual Trackball

I use SwipePad, I don't want the notification. Can we have an option to turn it off, please? Love how slick it is. I can't live without it.

by futuregramma the 11/7/2011
handyCalc Calculator

♥♥♥♥ Wow.

by futuregramma the 11/7/2011
Rain Alarm Pro

You can pick your audio stream to shut it off at night with the rest of your notifications or rings. Must-have for AM snow. Very responsive developer. Excellent app that uses best data available. If you keep anything you value outside (plants, car) this is a must have!

by futuregramma the 11/7/2011
Point Inside Shopping & Travel

Must-have for busy moms im big malls. Confused why bus/taxi info is missing from MOA, tho. Nice app, but not quite a lifesaver.

by futuregramma the 11/7/2011
Folder Organizer

Works fine on my 2.3 (t959 various xda roms). Uses *any* jpg as icon. I can't imagine any way to further customize shortcuts. With SwipePad, this is absolutely the fastest ui.

by futuregramma the 11/7/2011
Contact Event

Pretty good if you want a list of phone numbers in you event description. Still needs option to select which address to use for location instead of defaulting to whatever's first in the first contact.

by futuregramma the 10/26/2011
AB Repeat Player

THE best study recorder for Android. Played files other players couldn't.

by futuregramma the 10/25/2011
SetCPU for Root Users

Wow. Works great on every custom ROM (most of them) I've tried on my Vibrant. A must for every tinkerer.

by futuregramma the 10/11/2011
Sanity

Looks great, easy to use! Would love a scheduler, or better yet, Tasker integration.

by futuregramma the 9/24/2011
Car Dock Home v3

Scott, get Tasker. You'll get much more than $6 worth of app. Not flawless yet, but still the best of its.kind. Recent ROM (Malice on Vibrant) makes my wigets in this disappear every time I open it. :(

by futuregramma the 9/6/2011
Android-Speedometer

Hate the font, but it works.with my stinky SGS GPS very reponsively.

by futuregramma the 9/3/2011
xPiano

Worth checking out. Updates have always been an improvement, and since it really supported multitouch, it's been great.

by futuregramma the 8/30/2011
Car Home Speedometer

Always sits on zero for me. I'm also not a fan of old fashioned/retro (harder-to-read) fonts.

by futuregramma the 8/29/2011
Lucid Dreaming Data Uploader

If you're collecting the data anyway, there's no reason not to do this.

by futuregramma the 8/24/2011
Voltage Control

Love it! Does what it says, and minds its own business.

by futuregramma the 8/15/2011
XiiaLive - Online Radio

Zero real support CM7/Glitch sets off the pirate alert. Got a lame email back next day asking me if followed directions. Nothing since. Caveat for custom ROMs!

by futuregramma the 8/13/2011
Rescan Media ROOT

Just love the verbage on the last update. Sorry it was such a hassle.

by futuregramma the 8/12/2011
Contact Launcher

Doesn't do Google contact groups, just what's in the call log already. FC'd on CM7.

by futuregramma the 8/8/2011
ClipBird Pro

Updates for PC to dotnet 4.0 don't work Granted, there are multiple clients to support, but one of mine doesn't install or run bypassing.the installer. Makes it nearly useless.

by Janis the 8/5/2011
Children’s Bible

It"s pretty good. Not to-the-letter, and kids can handle more than we think (they do; they just don't articulate it). Entertaining.

by Janis the 8/5/2011
BeatDroid

Brilliant. And it's accurate on every ROM & kernel I've tried.

by futuregramma the 8/3/2011
Clipper Plus

Incerdibly useful Wd've paid $10 for this. Got a PC version, too. (Task switching and Clipper work great with Power Strip!) (Btw, it's "epic.")

by futuregramma the 8/1/2011
GPS Test Plus

Why do people like those old, utilitarian low-tech fonts? They're harder to read *and* ugly. Not updating.

by futuregramma the 8/1/2011
Locale GTalk Plug-in Free

Nee-ner nee-ner, I used.Titanium Backup and kept my old version. Shall I hit back with MegaUpload?

by futuregramma the 6/22/2011
GPS Monitor Free

Inspired. I had no idea what a hassle it was to keep toggling apps just to know what was going on (or not). Perfect for cloudy days and Samsung crap.

by Janis the 6/14/2011
K9 for Pure widget

SUPPORTS PURE MESSENGER WIDGET; DOES NOT INCLUDE IT so you can get email besides gmail on the widget. •••I love it, but it's the biggest resource hog.

by futuregramma the 6/9/2011
Labyrinth Ball

Even calms my six-year-old. But when updating, the first thing I check is the changelog in the Market post. So what's new?

by futuregramma the 5/28/2011
Cleartune - Chromatic Tuner

gStrings has its use for sure, but extensive temperaments, wave forms, sliding pitch, and fun interface make this worth a couple bucks and then some.

by Janis the 4/10/2011
WhoIsIt

Slows down Vibrant Bionix V 1.3.1. Sometimes just doesn't work. It's heavy, so I imagine of this is all you have running, it would work.

by futuregramma the 4/3/2011
Locale SMS Auto Respond Plugin

Works fine, but Tasker already does this with a lot more flexibility.

by futuregramma the 3/21/2011
(Free) Herbs of Traditn & Sppl

Mostly ads. Nothing on Neem. Symptoms are indefinite. I wouldn't trust the info if I *could* find what I need.

by futuregramma the 3/21/2011
Fractal Designer Pro

Konda hard to grasp 1. Usage, and 2. Transformations. Tjey just don't.want to go where I want to put them. I'll try back.

by futuregramma the 3/15/2011
Inserty (free)

Love it! Input Method selection keeps it out of memory when I'm not using it! ★★★★★★★★★

by futuregramma the 3/11/2011
Quick Addroid Pro (Donate)

Free add-free apps are a gift. Please show some gratitude so devs aren't competely disheartened. Thanks.

by futuregramma the 3/10/2011
Weather forecast widget

If u have trouble, pls contact developer! NOAA/NWS most accurate 4 MN. I gladly paid for customization. Lately updates a bit buggy 4 me, but solvable.

by futuregramma the 3/10/2011
Timer ★

Works really well, but is the biggest memory hog. Clutters up my logs and haven't touched it since install. Can't keep it. Opting for simpler.

by Janis the 2/28/2011
DelayedLock Trial

Erratic. But messing with the Froyo lock pattern is gonnna do that.

by futuregramma the 2/28/2011
What? (Free)

There are just-as-good ad-free free ones available.

by futuregramma the 2/27/2011
Smart Foods-Organic Diet Buddy

Description could be 1/3 the length. I thought *I* was Lady Redundant Woman.

by futuregramma the 2/19/2011
Picazza - tiny picasa client

Didn't let me grant access the first 3 tries. So far so good. Really easy to move pics from album to album!

by Janis the 2/10/2011
Locale Password Lock Plug-in

I tested before I closed Tasker. It didn't save my password, so no pasword would work. That sucked. Now I can't lock my phone until I reflash.

by futuregramma the 2/7/2011
Benguiat Gothic FlipFont

Very Android. Has class (so I guess it's one of the best fonts available for easy dowload...).

by Janis the 2/7/2011
mClock

Xml doesn't load right, can't change it. Doesn't always put widget on the homescreen (Go, Zeam). Definitely worth a try; more options than the others.

by Janis the 2/7/2011
Text Forward

Backing up sms's to an email address not registered on my phone for confirmation of receipt. Reliable app, great funtionality. Definitely worth it!

by futuregramma the 2/6/2011
BattStatt Pro

I like it, but I don't have the RAM for it. It's the heaviest-weight app I was running.

by Janis the 2/6/2011
Quick Addroid

Just a dev who offers a full version for free with an option to donate is worth $2. Given that this app speeds me up, I had no choice. Go do it.

by futuregramma the 2/5/2011
Quick Calendar

Does what it says, but for some reason it takes 20 sec to pull up the Samsung/Touch wiz entry screen.

by futuregramma the 1/25/2011
GPSTest

Now I know how big my circles need to be in Tasker (or Locale). Thanks Mike! SGS/T959 Nero5, "CORRECT hardware fix" from XDA-developers.com

by Janis the 1/23/2011
SuperPower XDA-BETA v0.80

Loved what it did, but my battery life actually improved after uninstall on Onyx 4.2 cuz it was using so much proccesor, etc., but my phone is weird.

by futuregramma the 1/17/2011
Sorry2BLate Beta

Seems incredibly promising. Needs a boatload of instructions, but they're in PDF on web. Not sure if it works, yet, if I can figure out what it does.

by futuregramma the 1/17/2011
Running Late

Doesn't pull location from anything but gps, so on my Vibrant I'm there b4 this gets a lock (the no-pants thing kills me)!

by futuregramma the 1/16/2011
Quick Calendar Appointment

Huge, lewd ads. Not an intuitive/easy interface. Didn't create a calendar entry at all. Website (server?) was down. SGS

by Janis the 1/15/2011
Sex Offenders Search

Fantastic for house shopping. You can tell how careful local law enforcement is by how well they report.

by futuregramma the 1/8/2011
GaYdar

We ARE everywhere! No, we aren't all offended (but we're all different...). Monotone straight-guy voice loses this a star. SGS @C It's you.

by Janis the 12/17/2010
four 2 win

Try "four in a row." Simpler, allows two-player.

by futuregramma the 12/17/2010
Four in a Row

It's the perfect version for kids: unique sounds, recognizeable title, simple but interesting UI. Nice.

by futuregramma the 12/17/2010
Tipper - Tip Calc

The old UI was easier to use & easier on the eyes. I rolled back with Titanium Backup. No more updates for me!

by futuregramma the 12/6/2010
Better Keyboard: Avatar Slate

Kacie, it really doesn't help. I've tried it. Kill 'em with kindness, give 'em the tools to figure it out, release and go live.

by Janis the 12/3/2010
Solar and Moon Calculator

The ui is pretty coarse (had to use Virtual Trackball to get past welcome screen), but it hits the geek market squarely. Very thorough!

by futuregramma the 12/1/2010
Voice Choice 2.0

Dev had their idea copied. I griped about paying a month b4 they dropped to free, they gave me a refund I didn't even ask for. App is absolutely solid

by futuregramma the 11/19/2010
Stop-Motion

Just blew right out of recording mode when I tried to take a shot. I'm bummed. Great concept. Vibrant, Fusion 1.1

by futuregramma the 11/19/2010
Stop-Motion - Lite

Didn't find my camera at first, then just blew out of recording mode when I tried to take a shot. I'm bummed. Great concept. Vibrant, Fusion 1.1

by futuregramma the 11/19/2010
Time-Lapse - Lite

Worked great on my Vibrant (Fusion 1.1 ROM). The price of the full version definitely makes the higher res. worth it.

by futuregramma the 11/13/2010
Buka

Was a great release early I'm the Android game, but didn't grow like I thought it would.Still fun, but pretty simple.

by Janis the 11/3/2010
Pocket Informant Pub Beta 2

So far so good! This is one of 2 apps I miss most about migrating from WinMo. I have no misgivings about reliability, and I'm thrilled it's Android!

by Janis the 10/26/2010
AlwaysPrompt

I am incredulous that this isn't a top-selling app. It's an ingenious paradigm, and well constructed.

by futuregramma the 10/18/2010
WiFi Status

Has worked beautifully from G1 CM3 thru 6, and on my extra sucky Vibrant firmware. Kudos for such reliability!

by futuregramma the 9/29/2010
Traffic Widget

Great to have some numbers for the commute. I can decide on an alternate route without thinking. Love it. Vibrant

by futuregramma the 9/29/2010
Google Voice Unread Count

Ram hog for what it is. Not exactly pretty. Seemed to work ok. T959

by futuregramma the 9/20/2010
UpSoundDown

Without the capacity to disable on headset or BT connection, it's definitely more of a hassle than it's worth in non-headset or bt mode. Uninstalling.

by futuregramma the 9/20/2010
Melon - Note Pad

Would love std shortcuts rather than the old pre-cupcake work-around. Great for quick, persistent reminders!

by futuregramma the 9/14/2010
Flashlight HD

Not any brighter than any other flaslight.

by Janis the 9/9/2010
Power Strip: Multitasking Dock

Multitasker's must-have. Intuitit + Fabio Collini = me -> XD

by futuregramma the 8/30/2010
Bluetooth Mode

A Godsend. Tmo Vibrant

by Janis the 8/29/2010
Disney Fairies

Daughter loves it. Ad bar is perfectly space-buffered so that we can click them we want to: nicely done!

by futuregramma the 8/21/2010
Locale AudioManager Plug-in

Makes things a whole lot easier using Tasker.

by Janis the 8/19/2010
Connect the Dots

Works on Vibrant. It's nice & simple. I'd much prefer more puzzles over more features.

by Janis the 8/18/2010
AnDrawing PRO

My in-call mic wouldn't work with these installed. Also tried to take over my home key after every boot. Vibrant.

by Janis the 8/17/2010
ABC Bubbles for Kids

Can you put an m&m together? Letters should be the main shape, not a bubble.

by futuregramma the 8/17/2010
MaplePaint

Text works for me on Vibrant. Handwritten notes jumbled on reopen; groups of lines get moved. Get error when overwriting that file exists. Way cool.

by Janis the 8/15/2010
Ring for new gmail, read aloud

AFAIK, this is the only app that will read emails. It's definitely getting triggered with Tasker when I get in the car. WOW!

by futuregramma the 8/15/2010
Tallyoid Counter

Great for teaching kids how to count in groups or specifically by fives. Love it.

by futuregramma the 8/15/2010
Reload SD

Very handy. Have loaded many others. This does the trick the best.

by futuregramma the 8/15/2010
Marvelous memo[Trial version]

Now i can post screenies on xda without opening a photo editor! Nicely done. Lose the bubbles, tho.

by futuregramma the 8/13/2010
SwiftReply Pro

Works much nicer on SGS than G1. Also plugs into Tasker.

by futuregramma the 8/13/2010
MicroJam Music Toy

I was really hoping to see more progress on this since I bought it 6 months ago. Yes, custom loops.

by Janis the 8/13/2010

My task killers work on Froyo....Mr.G, it kills the active app. Get off you home screen.

Finally! Thank you so much!

by futuregramma the 7/28/2010

by Janis the 7/21/2010
Weather Live Wallpaper

Weather never worked. Raining, no clouds, 84 all morning. 84 is our avg hi temp this time of year. It was actually 66-68. Graphics could use a boost.

by Janis the 7/20/2010
KeepTrack

I can't give this enough stars. No donate link, tho. Really customizeable, works like it should. Dev: put pill/s, medication, smokes in your keywords.

by futuregramma the 7/17/2010
Bluetooth QuickToggle

G1s are running Froyo now. Pu-leeze run it through a remotely fresh sdk! (Read: app has been abandoned.)

by Janis the 7/10/2010

GDE dock = side swipe. This guy wrote GDE. Bug: only last added activity of an app is remembered. Added Maps, then Nav, now my Maps shrtct opens Nav

by Janis the 7/9/2010
Ultra KB Spanish Dictionary

Nearly instant translation from a keyboard with voice input. Perfect.

by futuregramma the 6/21/2010
Klaxon - Alarm Clock (Premium)

If you open the app before you go to sleep, it will take precidence. Don't blame an app because of an Android shortfall.

by futuregramma the 6/16/2010
Shead Spreet Pro

Does what it says... a first for me with spreadsheet apps, & I think I've tried them all! Nothin beats WinMo for this, but this is as close as it gets

by futuregramma the 6/11/2010
One Click Add Event

Does anyone else get a kick out of the inane grammar drama? Dis-like sounds like a backward compliment on Facebook to me.

by futuregramma the 6/8/2010
ToggleBlu

Works on CM 4.2.15.1 (Donut) & 5.0.7t7. I use Schwimmer's toggles with BarControl. No Home hopping for settings!

by futuregramma the 6/3/2010
Locale Bluetooth Plug-In

Responsive developer! Now detects if bt is on or off! :-)

by futuregramma the 6/3/2010
Locale Wifi Conditions Plug-in

Makes Locale's location detection much more reliable and specific. Also made my wifi go off *every* time it saw my SSID. >:( Huge battery drain.

by futuregramma the 6/3/2010
Locale Timer Plug-in

Wasn't working on CM 4.2.15.1, nor on 5.0.7t7. Timer stopping triggers, but timer running doesn't. Very bare bones if it did work.

by Janis the 5/31/2010
PhoneLog

CallTrack does the same + call history pre-install, free. It DOESN'T "SYNC"just sends to your calendar. Deceptive. 100s of duplicates in my calendar.

by Janis the 5/31/2010
Calendar Quick Add

Works a dream on CM 507t7 on G1. Most intuitive format of quick adders, for me, anyway.

by Janis the 5/28/2010
mPuzzle

Games I know and new ones to learn. This is a huge pack of games for free. They all work, and are set up well.

by Janis the 5/25/2010
Episcopal Calendar

Keeps the "scope" in Episcopal.

by Janis the 5/25/2010
QuickAlarm Pro

Simple, not bulky. Easy to use. Works. My favorite timer, and I've tried about 30 of them.

by futuregramma the 5/22/2010
GooMemo

I use another note app for notes, but for journalling/longer entries this is perfect! I'd love to sync. Where's the pro version?

by futuregramma the 5/22/2010
AGeoSketch

I l.o.v.e.d. Spirograph! I like the idea of the way values are changed, but it is tough to do. Awesome if u have a brain.

by futuregramma the 5/19/2010
Locale Shake Plug-in

It bogged down my G1; runs fat: 3.5 mb? Like it, no RAM for it. Wanted to use it to kill tasks to speed up my phone. Ha.

by futuregramma the 5/19/2010
Have2P

Uh, Jessica, if I can use the toilet in your house, would you list it please? A parental must have. Amen Jenny.

by futuregramma the 5/18/2010

by futuregramma the 3/31/2010
Photo BURST Pro

Buggy. Doesn't index accurately, doesn't navigate with back button properly, doesn't have ways to work around these. Needs opt 2 chng default folder.

by Janis the 3/27/2010
Photo BURST Demo

Not 100% stable, and not too many features, but nice looking and rleatively easy to use.

Always Flash (for root users)

Huh. Seems to work with my apps2sd. Sometimes the charging LED won't lite when I'm charging, but I have other indicators for that.

by futuregramma the 3/25/2010
Locale Call Detection Plug-in

Slows down ring time on my G1 so much I miss calls entirely... for all calls, not just when active in a situation. Can't it run skinnier?

by futuregramma the 3/19/2010
Locale Button Plug-in

It works in ample free-RAM. More seprately-downloadable skins would be great!

by futuregramma the 3/17/2010
911

A godsend. I can't express my gratitude for this app.

by futuregramma the 3/17/2010
CarSafety

So it goes off driving over a pothole. I shut it off. I total my car 1 hr later. At least the distraction of shutting it off didn't distract me 2 much

by futuregramma the 3/15/2010
ADO SOS

With a couple more custom slots, this would be perfect. No waiting to scroll, readable font. Does what it says.

by Janis the 3/15/2010
Lockscreen SMS + Locale Plugin

Doesn't play nice with Autolock, which I prefer. But it works well.

by Janis the 3/15/2010
Lockscreen SMS + Locale Plugin

Doesn't play nice with Autolock, which I prefer. But it works well.

by futuregramma the 3/15/2010
Locale Calendar Plug-in

It really makes me mad that we had something 4 free, and now we gotta pay. This works better than the old beta, tho.

by futuregramma the 3/15/2010
Locale Variables Plug-in

Wish the Loclae team would work with these guys a bit more. This just switches values, so whatever was triggered last is what u get.

by futuregramma the 3/12/2010
Analogy Clock

So clear to read, and great for teaching. Widget conks after a minute. I so want it to work!

by futuregramma the 3/10/2010
Locale Gesture Control Plug-in

It's still more attractive than the button plug-in. It was a bit RAM-heavy on my G1. Found it better to just open Locale & click.

by Janis the 3/5/2010
PowerTutor

Please don't rate any app poorly if the tin says it's not for your phone. Needs more instructions, but works well. G1 CM4.2.15 10mbCFShack

by Janis the 3/3/2010
Celeste SE

Graphics were jumpy. Not for 1st gen Android phones? Wasn't worth the frustration (nor "uninstalling" my CFS boot hack).

by futuregramma the 3/2/2010
Sleep Log Automatic

One star just for filling a Market gap. Works well. Bare bones app, so I'm looking fowewars to updates.

by futuregramma the 2/28/2010
Been There

Which Target store had that set of dishes? Oh, yeah. I took a pic. very handy, and fun.

by futuregramma the 2/28/2010
Lit Keys

Definitely a keeper.

by Janis the 2/28/2010
AskMe Lite

Yes, Stephanie, it gets stuck, just like the analog ones. This is an excellent emulation of analog. Keep it up dev!

by futuregramma the 2/27/2010
Better Keyboard - QuicKey

I'm so happy to get a soft keyboard with a similar skin to my winmo ph, and for $17 less! Android users have a cheap rep. No wonder.

by Janis the 2/26/2010
Photo Frame Deluxe

Conceptually great! Doesn't load after startup, occaisionally FCs when setting up. G1 CM 4.2.12.1

by futuregramma the 2/22/2010
UltraTimer

So not worth what I paid. To enable an end alarm, just put a 2 sec timer at the end to let it sound. Shd I have 2 do that, tho?

by Janis the 2/16/2010
WiFi Toggle

I rank it #1 for fitting in a shortcut to wifi settings in a 1x1. It looks good, and works well/fast.

by futuregramma the 2/16/2010
Wifi Switcher

G1, CM 4.2.14.1. Didn't indicate status accurately, a couple force closes. Left-justified graphic, but cute.

by Janis the 2/16/2010
Unpublished

Great idea, and it works if the kernel of the ROM works. CM 4.2.14.1 is fine. Sometimes I wish it would go darker.

by futuregramma the 2/6/2010
Rhythm Guitar

Someone @ Google or HTC has got to figure out a new algorithm for mutiple-point screen input. Besides that, some chords were displaying wrong.

by Janis the 2/4/2010
Locale Power Save Plug-in

Nice to turn off 2/3G to reduce notifs or save batt. Doesn't work on my wifi (CM 4.2.14.1 cd hv 2.0 driver), so I use built in.

by Janis the 1/20/2010
Snap2Date - Voice to Calendar

Works. Slow. G1. Prompts 4 each field = slow. Only saves 2 pre-selected cal (cant edit that on ph). No frills, edit-later deal. Doesn't hear "cancel".

by futuregramma the 1/19/2010
GestureCommander-Full

Love the concept, UI is nice, but it didn't work for me and got FC on CM 4.2.13 with Advanced Launcher.

by Janis the 1/3/2010
LMS™ (30 days trial)

It's a first release. I have no doubnt in my mind that in a day or two this'll have 5* from me.

by Janis the 1/3/2010
J. Rabbit

Definitely headed in a good direction. It is fun. It had me laughing. It's so cute & kid friendly, except for the part I imagined when the bunny fell.

by futuregramma the 1/3/2010
Mood Journal Plus

On it's way 2 being a really great app. The test'll tell u u r really depressed, then you can't log it. Kinda looks like it was custom for 1 person.

by futuregramma the 1/3/2010
Ultimate Voice Recorder

Runs as a service all the time, rather than trigger by call state. The dev got the audio right, but the code is, well, pretty weak. Not worth $5

by futuregramma the 12/30/2009
Locale Shortcut Plug-in

It's be great if Locale didn't refresh Situations so often, triggering the shortcut every time. Major PITA. Nice idea though. Can't wait til it's done

by futuregramma the 12/23/2009
Reader Widget Pro

It's the only attempt of its kind on Market. It hasn't ever worked for me, but I'm holding out.

by Janis the 11/29/2009
Trace Blast FREE

Needs an algorithm to provide a wider margin of error on end pts. I couldn't do 2 B's in <1 min 2 save my life.

by futuregramma the 11/21/2009
Mr. Liver

I got it to work by tapping randomly on the black screen. Upper right? Inside it's an excellent app!

by futuregramma the 11/18/2009
WiSyncPlus

I love the idea, & bought it. I'm not using it, tho, bc the prioities r way too confusing. (plus I use Gvoice). ??? Pls clarify!

by futuregramma the 11/10/2009
Pillbox Alert

Maybe right for some, but there are other, free, reminder apps I can use. Not too featured 4 the price.

by futuregramma the 11/6/2009
Iteration (generative art)

Great for looping between "right" and "left" brains, going around the long way. Makes nice wallpapers, too!

by futuregramma the 11/4/2009
aDiary - Secure Diary Journal

2* 4 being overpriced just bc there's no competition, wd b 3. Most good notes & period apps do this, some 4 free.

by futuregramma the 11/4/2009
Swapper for Root users

Easiest way 2 enable swap. I strongly recommend this app 2 evry1. u don't have 2 b technical, nor do u have to keep trak of your userinit file.

by Janis the 10/21/2009
ExactCallLog

aContacts call log removes notifications from the notification list. I'm not sure why this can't. Kind of defeats the purpose of a call log imho.

by futuregramma the 10/17/2009
Ipoki

Sory guys. Doesn't handle screen orientation at all. No way to set up an acct, have 2 use browser. Not ready yet.

by Janis the 9/15/2009
Face of Ring

Best accelerometer volume controller on Market. Customizable, reliable, easy to turn off. Really nice.

by Janis the 9/3/2009
Daisy Garden Lite

It's adorable, but I can't afford the memory for a widget that doesn't give me phone-necessary info or let me input same. Wanted a stqand-alone app.

by Janis the 8/25/2009
CellFinder

Didn't do anything but show my location and tower ID on CM 4.0.1 and .2.

by Janis the 8/25/2009
my ghost

Didn't work for me on Cyanogen's 4.0.1.or .2, but I've got a lot of other software loaded.

by Janis the 8/21/2009
Quickdroid

10k? Eats too much of everything for what it does.

by Janis the 8/20/2009
aniWidget Trial

Nice concept. Agenda never updates. RSS is silly if u cant read more. Wish there was a tweener w just calendar, weather and clock... it wd work.

by Janis the 8/15/2009
SMS Command

Great idea, but I searched hi & lo 4 instructions, or list I cd get w/o using sms. Nada.

by futuregramma the 8/12/2009
Call Recorder

With the right ROM, or enough room on the phone, this works well. The spkr only thing is a system limitation, not the software.

by Janis the 8/11/2009
Temp Converter

Black background, black text. It's the only free one out, so far... change text to red would likely solve for any default/theme colors.

by Janis the 8/8/2009
KeyLights Manager Luxury

Running CM 3.9.7 ROM, it only force closes for me.

by Janis the 8/8/2009
TooDo

Best concept, but is heavy and bogs system so abd I had to wipe. No email response for a week from dev. I want this to work!

by futuregramma the 8/4/2009
Watts

Works well. Could there be a way to output/save data?

by futuregramma the 7/26/2009
TeaChimer

Best timer available for Android, if your timer is set for less time than your screen timeout. Keep awake option/piggyback toggle screen timeout?

by Janis the 7/26/2009
Diffuse

Perfect for using on long phone calls, but better than doodling!

by futuregramma the 7/17/2009
Tiny Clock Widget 2

Doesn't update after enabling widget (have to re-enable to get current time). Might be my cyanogen ROM.

by futuregramma the 6/20/2009
DimBot

Does what it says both quickly & quietly. Doesn't interfere with other apps, either. Amazing response time to requests! Wow! Not a bug to be found!

by Janis the 6/10/2009
TimerWidget

Nice idea, but made other apps (home replacements) force close. Running too much on my phone, I guess.

by Janis the 6/9/2009
JS Weather

Great app; I loved it! Had to uninstall tho cuz it was so resource hungry. Everything force closing til I disabled. Nice, just needs right user.

by Janis the 6/8/2009

Dxtop was laggy. Switched to Open Home. Eagerly awaiting aHome compatible widgets!

by futuregramma the 6/8/2009
LilOnesv2

Download issues aren't bc of the developers!!! Game components are inconsistent, some work, some don't. Hard 2 explain to a kid. Graphics very 80's.

by futuregramma the 6/6/2009
Car Finder LITE

GPS loc didn't take ever while other apps were OK. Layout needs improvement.
