Valence

The perfect companion to a TV-connected Mac Mini! I only came across this app due to a reference from howtogeek.com. Full control without additional, buggy server software! The touchpad and scrolling work smoothly, and the keyboard interaction is top-notch. As usual, I have a couple requests. 1: The Mac VNC server swaps the Middle and Right-click modifiers. Could you provide an option to define how a right-click is sent? For now, I only have left and middle. 2: Provide a basic "D-Pad" for Front-Row navigation. Cursor, Enter, Esc. Excellent work!

Plex 9 Remote

Limited, but very reliable. Not bad. I found this app to be the most reliable in operating Plex on my Mac Mini. The media fwd/rev/skip/etc keys are solid. However, it has one glaring omission: NO KEYBOARD. Searching Netflix, Hulu, or your Media Library is a bit of a painful chore. I end up having to switch to another remote app in those cases. Otherwise, this works reasonably well, but is only slightly more functional than the standard Apple Remote.

Quicker

The ability to add any app earned it the 5th star. Its my secondary launcher for settings and small utilities.

Syncness Wifi Sync Music/Files

Wireless sync...REAL wireless sync! I've been slowly getting more involved with this. The best feature is that you can trigger it on specific WiFi, so it does a daily sync with DropBox and my "media" folder on my PC only when connected to my WiFi. And it does it reliably! 1 star removed for having no log, which makes it a little difficult to tell if it is doing what you expect without experimenting a few times and checking file dates.

I can select the Archos Video player. Nice interface. Doesn't muck up my music folder. All for free!

Where Grows the Bitter Herb

The story and art is great enough that it gets 4 stars DESPITE how it installs all 8MB into main memory! Please update to use SD card. Had to delete.
