One Touch Location - Pro

Good and simple Really nice. Advantages over other apps: smaller size, can post straight to web, twitter and FB (not SMS or e-mail dependent). A great thing is the website address which you can give to users for them to see where you are. Can the address be reset/changed if needed? Pro version's maximum interval is 30min, which is still very short, specially if I'm spending a long time at the same location. I would like to be able to add greater intervals, such as every 1h or 2h. Tasker integration would also be great (such as to manually update/send position when a certain event happens, change interval time when at a certain location, etc, etc). ···························································································································································································> Drimmie: you can't compare this with Google Maps. They are totally different. GMaps can't directly post to TWitter, FB, mail, etc withouy user clicking manually. It doesn't offer an URL for people to see where you are (without you having to send a link). GMaps will only do if you have to send your location once in a while and are willing to do it manually.

Replaced all my widgets / substituiu meus widgets Widgets use up a lot of memory, and lower-end devices like the Xperia X8 suffer with this: the phone just gets slow. Quick Settings is the answer: remove all those fancy widgets and install Quick Settings to change settings straight from the notification bar. Quick access, a beautiful interface with smooth menus, makes things very easy for the user. Melhorou muito, mas falta opção offline Melhorou bastante. Outro dia fui informar sobre um poste que está para cair em uma rua próxima. Preenchi o endereço, bati uma foto. Só um problema: não havia acesso à Internet, e a solicitação que digitei foi perdida. Teria que digitar tuuuudo de novo... Poderiam acrescentar um modo "offline", para que as solicitações sejam preenchidas, mas fiquem em uma "caixa de saída". E assim que o aparelho estiver conectado à Internet, o usuário poderá enviar (manualmente ou automaticamente). Está ficando bacana, só falta isto! @FimDeAbril

Math Ref Free

Lots of complex stuff. Lacks some simple stuff. This app has a very nice interface, and lots of content, including financial formulas. I quite like it, but unfortunately it doesn't have some simpler things,such as a calculator or unit converter.

Recorder from Xperia X10

Great for XPeria X8 / Ótimo para XPeria X8 I had noticed, via backup apps, that the XPeria X8 has a sound recorder, but I could never find a shortcut for it. I guess that the app is the internal one used for speech recognition etc. I had downloaded a third-party sound recorder, but this shorcut allows me to use the internal one. Great stuff! ---------------- Havia notado que o XPeria X8 tem um aplicativo interno para gravar sons, mas nunca encontrei atalho para ele. Deve ser um aplicativo interno, utilizado pera reconhecimento de voz. Com este atalho, posso acessar e usar o gravador. Perfeito!

Notification Restart

Doesn't restart notification bar on XPeria X8 Once in a while the notification bar on my rooted XPeria X8 crashes. I mean, it just disappears. I hoped this app would restart it, without having to reboot the phone. But it doesn't. The only way I found in my case was a soft-reboot (that is, restart the Android OS - not power off the phone completely). I achieve this by the shortcut in Link2SD. Anyway, nice idea. I wish it would restart the notification bar in other ROMs.

Dialer One

Nice! But can't set ring tone for groups, etc I'm liking this app again, but it doesn't have functions such as setting the ringtone for the groups and other nice things that DW Contacts has. But it's faster and more responsive than DW Contacts, I must say.

Qual Operadora?

Bom, mas ele elimina campos dos contatos! O aplicativo é muito bom. Porém há um grande problema: os contatos possuem campos para os números de telefone (trabalho, casa, etc), e o aplicativo remove este campo e coloca a operadora no lugar. Ou seja: não sei mais se o número é do trabalho, particular, etc. O certo seria o aplicativa criar um campo novo, como "outro", ou algo assim, e usá-lo. Outra idéia: o aplicativo poderia anexar o texto "\nOperadora: %operadora%\n" ao final ou início do campo nota, onde "\n" é uma quebra de linha e %operadora% a variável que contém a operadora (óbvio...). Assim, se o contato tem ou não nota, tanto faz: a operadora é acresentada à nota, e não remove outros campos. Mas mesmo assim, é muito bom. @FimDeAbril

Fast Reboot Pro

Works! And now has integration with Tasker! It definitely makes the phone respond better. Make sure to add to the ignore list those apps that you use more often (dialer, widgets,etc), or else the effect will be the opposite (phone will have to re-load the app all the time, instead of using an instance already in memory). Specially when enabling "reboot" when screen goes off / on. Now that it has integration with Tasker, the user can control when to trigger it. For instance, user can create a task that runs Fast Reboot and then opens a heavy-duty RAM-hungry app. Great for lower-end phones like my Xperia X8.

Lacing Art

Lots of information. Needs interface improvements. Nice, lots of lace styles. But the fonts are very small, and the colors don't help. The lace details shows text under the lace picture, but the last line is half hidden... is there more text below? Can't see it. Why is it slow loading the details of each lace? Is it downloading the data from the Internet?

Aurora Universal Search

Indexes data. Fast results! But... As the data is indexed, it finds anything almost instantaneously. Calendar search works fine here. Did you enable Calendar in the search options? Did you enable Aurora in the system's Searchable Items configuration? Are you using the system's calendar database? Try one of these. Problem is that it finds data but (a) doesn't always allow to select an app to open the data, and (b) doesn't offer an option to open the file's path in a file manager. So I found that file but I can't open its path to access it

Remote My Droid (Lite)

Pretty basic First, the default port, 8899, didn't work for some reason. I changed it to 8999, and it worked. The app is nice, but very basic. Only SMS and File Explorer. Both were slow in loading the file/folder list and the SMS threads. I didn't test further, as it doesn't have features like Remote Web Desktop does, so why? Continue? Uninstal...

Great app. Needs some improvements. Great app to take snapshots of screen, read/send SMS, access files. The FTP server is awesome. Too bad that the webcam doesn't work on Android 2.1 :o( The Contacts list shows no contacts for me. Maybe because it only handles the default contact list? I have my contacts on a separate SyncML address book (but still a system address book).

GoldenDict Free

Good! Uses Babylon files! But must still improve.. GoldenDict can read Babylon BGL files directly. Not only that: it also detected and read the dictionaries I had already installed for ColorDict. However, GoldenDict still can improve. For instance, color options (for dictionaries and for the interface - dark theme). And serif fonts. ColorDict has better interface. Can it use online dictionaries? I'm not sure, but ColorDict searches Wikipedia as well. I believe the price of the paid version is still a bit high, considering it doesn't have some features.

Nice! Needs option to select maps folder... Nice! Works offline also! I notice that it detects cameras that are on the other lane as well. No big deal, but if a radius could be set, or something like that, then maybe this could be avoided. It can use the OSM maps, but since I use Locus Pro, I already have several maps. It would be good to be able to select the maps folder and use the same ones.

Very good! But can get better! I like it. Small size, opens ePub, HTML, etc. But it needs two improvements: a) make for HTML the same controls available for ePub. b) How does one go back to previous link when reading HTML? c) Bookmarking HTML always fails.

Events added in calendars still don't remain there Events added to the Android calendar don't stay there. That is, events are added, but they don't seem to be written to Android's calendar, so then they disappear soon after. The interface is nice but a bit slow, as it seems to always re-read the calendar data each time the view is changed. Tasks sync fine with Toodledo, and this is the only reason why I still use it. Pretty good! Despite the fact of having to share a weblink (a limitation imposed by Wuala's API), this app does a pretty good job and is better than the official one. A little bird told me that very soon the next version will allow user to select custom local folders for the weblinks, which will be great.

Can't choose to download a folder? OK to browse the folders and retrieve a single file. But there's no way to select a whole folder to download, which makes it pointless too me. For example, I uploaded a set of HTML files and folders for me to read on my phone. But on Wuala for Android, I must select and download each file, one by one. Makes no sense to me.

Very good, but can't get detail view of files? I like this app very much. It's simple and functional. Sent and received SMS with no problem. Easy access to files. But the file view only shows icons and truncated file names. How can I get a list or detailed view (so I can see the file type, size, and full name)? The link to the FAQ page on the developer's site is broken. How can I contact the developer?

Poor interface, has bugs The interface is pretty poor. The small grey buttons: when are they pressed / not pressed? hard to tell. When selecting a ringtone for the alarm, a) the played sound was not of the correspondent ringtone - the list names were offset, and b) when selecting a tone, it started to play, and wouldn't stop, even after exiting the app. eventually stopped after I selected one of the first tones on the list. Sailforms Database

Interesting, but development seems to have stopped Interesting, nice and easy way to assemble forms. The idea is great, but even the pro version seems to lack more advanced features, such as linking between forms (e.g.: link a Category to another form with a list of categories) and fields such as boolean, tick box, etc. The author's website has been "under construction" for a long time now. Too bad, as it's a great idea. I would like to see SailForms layout with the options of Memento. Or Memento with Sailform's layout. I would definitely pay.

How do I contact the author? No Help, no About, no Website... no contact. It would be good if pressing the back button would work as a regular "back" button like in a browser, so the user could go to the previous page instead of opening the file explorer. I'm trying to read a multipage document, but I can't go back to a previous page. The file explorer could be in the menu button instead.

Mas do que adianta pegar todas as informações quando estou usando o WiFi de casa para depois, em outro local, o programa não ter mais as informações e ter que buscar tudo de novo? Deveria haver uma opção para "cidade favorita", ou "bairro favorito", ou "cinema favorito", para que o programa guarde estes dados para consulta offline. Assim os usuários poderiam pegar os dados um dia, e consultá-los ao longo da semana. Acrescente opção offline e vira 5 estrelas

Updated review: works but needs instructions Upgrading review to 4 stars, now that I think I understand how to make it work: 1) Must set "activate" before leaving program, as it deactivates alarms when opened. 2) GPS fine, coarse or none. If is "fine", position update frequently (use more battery). If "coarse", when app minimized seems to stop updating position. Must be only at an interval. In this case, if speed too fast or radius too small, big chance of passing by point and app not updating position, hence not triggering alarm. If "none"... no idea

Location Reminder Alarm

Worked, but needs improving This app only accepts GPS positions. It should work with network position as well. And why the need to register for an online service? Why can't it just work on it's own? It doesn't show the current distance to the points either. But I tested it and it worked. Anyway, I'm not keeping it because it's GPS-only, which uses too much battery.

The layout is very nice, but on my X8 I just couldn't select some fields, such as the "Paid By" field: the names list has very narrow rows and I just couldn't select any. A proper translation and fixing the narrow fields would be great.

Good but must improve. Alarm difficult to dismiss. Pros: works fine, as long as you remember to NOT close the app, but switch back to the OS or other app. Map search, radius select, coordinate entry. Works without GPS (use only phone network). Cons: Only internal loud siren alarm. Map seems slow. It doesn't seem to use cached Google Maps (loads it all again). Alarm very awkward to dismiss: alarm rings, everyone looking. Swipe, swipe unlock. Alarm message on screen. Tap. Nothing. Switch screens, find/run app. Dismiss alarm. Should use system notification
