Aporkalypse - Pigs of Doom

Nice game. Plays like Lost Vikings Good game! Kinda like an isometric Lost Vikings - swapping between characters to overcome obstacles. Worth buying if you like the free version because it runs much faster without the ad.

Magic Portals

Portal It's like Portal, only in 2D. What more needs to be said? Great. :D

Spectral Souls (ENG)

Runs great on a ZTE Blade in hi-res.

Heroes of Zulula

I like it. RPG elements between levels, turn based moving around the levels and a novel combat system.

Gish Reloaded

Really good touchscreen controls I find it easier to control than the PC version!

Furry Legends

Good fun. One of the few Virtual DPad controlled games I like.

Box Fox - Puzzle Platformer

Really good puzzles. I don't especially like virtual controls but with this game being more about puzzle solving than action, it doesn't matter so much.

Pyxxis Lost in Space

Great game It's kinda like having a single Lemming where you preset all his moves before starting the level. And physics based! Considering its file size it could really do with apps2sd support!

Templar Assault Elite

Excellent! So early in its life and this is already shaping up to be an excellent TBS.

Templar Assault

This is going to be great Feels like it's fairly early in the games life (and the beta tag and version number back that up!) but this is going to be great! The only thing I'm struggling with (unless I'm missing it) is a lack of feedback from the fights. Would be nice to see some in game feedback on the die rolls and stat combinations that caused that particular health drop. Rather than see one creature take multiple hits and another die instantly etc.

Knighturn RPG

Very good. I'm a huge TBS fan, particularly Advance Wars style. I didn't initially like this until I worked out you need to play it differently form the typical TBS. You can't play cautiously. You need to play aggressively to take over and control key points of the map to increase your army size. Allows for a fairly unique play style from the typical TBS whilst still feeling like a great TBS. Whilst I will happily play any AW clone anyone makes, I thank this for mixing things up a little!

Sw&Ear - Tales of Andaria

Unusual TBS I played the demo of this when it first came out and hated the virtual UI. I've just discovered they have backported the Knighturn touchscreen UI to it though so all is forgiven. As to the game itself, I'm a big TBS fan and I like this for forcing a non typical play style. The need to control key points on the map forces an aggressive play that I initially didn't like but now really appreciate as a different take on my favourite genre.

Populus Romanus FREE

Follows Civilization combat rules. Units have Attack & defense scores and movement points. Terrain affects movement and provides combat bonuses. Fights are further affected by surrounding the enemy and units can improve stats by achieving veteran status. Towns collect gold, allow you to buy new units and heal existing units. Plays out like a war in Civ where your fighting for control of each others cities rather than building your own.

Populus Romanus

TBS using the combat rules of Civilization Plays very much like the combat rules from the Civ series. Units have attack, defense and move scores. There's terrain, flanking and veteran bonuses and a random element to mix things up. Units have 3 hit points and lose one for losing a fight. Towns give a defense bonus, earn gold and allow you to buy new units. They also allow you to heal injured units - important for preserving those veteran bonuses!

Constant C

Excellent platform puzzler. Platform puzzler where you can change the direction of gravity to overcome obstacles.

by targetbsp the 10/6/2011
Island Fortress

Reverse Angry Birds You're the one building defenses against a trajectory based attack.

Pyxxis Games

Great game, stupid delivery system This is a really fun game, held back by a ridiculous delivery system. You don't actually download the game, you download a 15mb app which contains the 15mb game. When you first run this, it extracts and installs the 15mb game and then acts as a launcher for it. So you end up needing 30mb of space for a 15mb game. The only reason I rate this so highly is because I've removed the launcher and changed my copy of the game to be directly launchable. Which shows you exactly how unnecessary the launcher was.

Theseus and the Minotaur

Makes you think! Good game. Nice presentation and controls. Makes you think!

Domino Run

Good, challenging puzzle game A lot like the old Amiga game Pushover - but without the Ant or the tie-in to a brand of crisps! Who's old enough to remember that? There are special dominoes which do things such as bridge gaps, split in 2, or keep tumbling. This keep things interesting and adds challenge to what would otherwise be very simple with ordinary dominoes. It's a little bit laggy on my phone with the background on but it's not the kind of game where that matters. You can turn the background off but it's not pretty if you do!

MYFC Manager 2012

Good FM game. Just a few features away from great Very good CM/FM style game. Would be nice to have some in match stats other than just the commentary. Perhaps player ratings to aid substitution and maybe the after match report as it stands at that point in time to aid tactic changes.

Xenowar

X-COM for Android With the first release of this you could only play one off turn based squad/tactical battles in X-Com style with action points and even opportunity fire. This was really good fun for genre fans but the lack of progression made it feel kind of pointless. They've just released v2 which adds a campaign mode with bases and research etc on a geoscape. So now you can shoot down the UFO's and send your troops out to kill the Aliens. X-Com fans will love it and it's good to see such a large content update.

Mechanics Touch

Lemmings crossed with Mario: Mini-land Mayhem Not too sure how to describe this one. It has hints of Mario: Mini-land Mayhem about it. In any case, Mechanics is a very good game!

Tower Raiders GOLD

The best tower defense game - like Degense Grid Basically Defense Grid. A nice balance between raiders coming in on fixed paths and setting up mazes of guns. I much prefer this to tower defense games that take either extreme.

by targetbsp the 3/23/2011
Vampire Slayer Squad Lite

Nice squad tactics game. Plays like a simple version of x-com. Action points to move and fire. Can spend AP's to put characters in a defensive mode to fire during opponent turns similar to opportunity fire.

ShokoRocket

Very close port of Chu Chu Rocket A free and pretty much perfect port of Chu Chu Rocket. It really ought to have had more downloads than it has!

ilMeteo Weather

Best weather app I've tested in the UK Very good! I downloaded a dozen different weather apps and this one was the best IMO. Very clear forecast for use at a glance that you can drill down into to get more and more detail.

Fuzzies

Very polished Lemmings game This is basically Lemmings. You can't go wrong with that! It's a very polished game - very nicely animated. Don't let the small size fool you into thinking there's not much to it - it downloads data to your SD Card on first load.

by targetbsp the 3/23/2011
Task Manager

Nice simple, clean task manager. Due to it's simplicity - my favourite task manager. Just shows the memory and cpu usage of each task. You shouldn't need anything else to deal with troublesome apps. The small font and icons mean you see more processes without having to scroll than any other app I've tried.

Everlands HD

Fantastic strategy game like no other This is an amazing game! It's really quite hard to describe though. Any turn based strategy gamer must try out the demo/lite version - you'll love it.

by targetbsp the 3/23/2011
Sword Requiem

Fire Emblem for Android! It's basically Fire Emblem, which for those that haven't played it, is Advance Wars crossed with an RPG.

by targetbsp the 3/23/2011
Leave Devil Alone HD

Plants Vs Zombies Best Plants Vs Zombies style game I've seen on Android. Faster paced and more difficult though so not so much for the casual gamers.

Revival 2 (Civilization)

Controls are fine! Works great on a touchscreen Despite being a huge Civ fan, I didn't try this for months because of people claiming it didn't work on a touchscreen. I don't know what games those guys were playing because it works fine! I appreciate it's had a recent update but the trial version plays great too and it's 6 months old! I wonder if people aren't following the tutorial closely enough and aren't switching between unit movement mode and scrolling mode?
