ChuChu Rocket!™

A great Android debut for Sega This game feels more at home on mobile phones than it ever did on Dreamcast. Bite-sized puzzles like this are the perfect distraction, the same kind of appeal as Cut the Rope or Angry Birds. Not only that, but it runs silky smooth even on 1st gen Androids, but also supports higher resolutions so it looks good on new handsets as well. Bang up job. Now lets get some Super Monkey Ball ports, Sega!

Backbreaker Football

Just get the sequel Has graphical problems on some newer phones like the Galaxy S II. These can be fixed with some jiggering in Chainfire 3D if you have root, but really Backbreaker 2 has more content and works fine, so just get that.

SuperGNES Lite (SNES Emulator)

No Snes9x, but best SNES emu for low-end Androids Lovely interface, impressive speed, and good compatibility, much better than DroidEmu or SNESoid. Playable (although a bit choppy) even on a lowly G1, and even supports SuperFX games. However, it lacks the screen filtering and mouse/super scope support of Snes9x GX (which is free from its website), which keeps it from being the best choice on more powerful phones. As it is, it's the second best SNES emu on Android.

[root] Chainfire3D

Neat! Not only allowed me to play some Tegra-exclusives, but even with no plug ins loaded and all settings on default, it solved a problem I had with Riptide GP loading lower res textures.

Sonic CD

A classic game, and a solid port This is a nice port, not emulated, and yet almost pixel perfect, with filtering options support for widescreen displays, and a new unlockable character. Pretty classy job, all around. My one reservation is that the game needs to download 270 MB of data, and the handling of this seems very poor. Many phones have difficulty downloading this or download it extemely slowly, and if it is interrupted at any point, it insists on starting over from the beginning. There really has to be a better way. It was so bad, I just gave up installing it one of my devices. A few more control options would have been nice as well. I'd like to be able to change the size and position of the d-pad, for example.
