Draw Music MonadPad

Works well on HTC Incredible S Have so much fun with this app, great for right before bed time, winding down. Something simple but creative to use. Not hard to make something that sounds interesting and beautiful.

Polish Medical Phrases

Highly recommend these Theis apps These don't need any particular permissions, no ads. But mainly what is great is the teaching method - first read as normal speed, then a second time slower and more distinct. Shows both Polish spelling and phonetic to help you get the words right. Clear recordings. Travellers will actually find the general, medical and civil app worthwhile. Get them!!!

Polish Basic Phrases

Ad free, straight to the point, different speed These are the 3 things I really like about these apps by Robert Theis. First they are read at normal speed, then a second time slower and with different intonation. The Polish spelling is displayed on screen as well as phonetic spelling. The phrases are good too - although geared toward military use, common travellers will also find the medical and general ones helpful.

Brisbane Where's The Bus beta

Good idea that needs polishing For starters, this is meant to be Brisbane, yet the map starts off as worldwide. Seems to save the map where you last were though. The 'selection' box that shows up when you touch doesn't exactly map to the buttons displayed. (I'm on HTC Incredible S). Insight function (see history of buses passing) is 24 hrs fixed - need to let user reset (eg only want to know buses in last 30mins). Bus Route entry is set to numeric - no good to add "Spring Hill Loop" and "City Glider". Keep up the good work!

Cineplex Cinemas

Seems stable on HTC Incredible S Has everything you need - price, locations, session times, book via app, synopsis of movies. Do everything you usually would do on their website via the app!

Polish Phrases

A little let down This would be good if you just play the phrase to be understood, but as a tool for learning the sound quality is poor (quite quiet, tinny and also speaks too fast). All the phrases in this set are all travel oriented - transport, eating, hotel, etc.

Ethereal Dialpad (synthesizer)

Reminds me of the glory days of winamp, psychedeli c screensaver, etc. For me this is less about the music, and more about all the cool little visualisation plugins you could make for it. No ads as far as I could see.

Blip Synthesizer

Very simple, ads down the bottom Just touch any square to add it to play, and touch again to remove it. Loops endlessly for some ambient background music as you work. The bar is to increase/decrease speed of play. You can select scale and a few other little things and save it as a ringtone too. Nice on the HTC Incredible S.

Ambient Sound Lab

Simple design, has ads Just tap or drag to add notes to the play. A few different buttons to configure things too. Makes really sweet little tunes for you. Ads running at the top of screen. Works well on HTC Incredible S.

Smart Theremin

Huge range of config, ad supported I found response quite good on the HTC Incredible S. You can configure heaps of things. Ads randomly appear at the top of the screen when playing.

SnapTap: SteelDrums

Basic, with ads The sound is good. Have had some apps before where the sounds are cut short or are bad quality. You can move the drums around to arrange in the notes you need most. Has ads down the bottom. No multi touch function. Speed is good though.

Drawing neon

Eraser could be better The 4 colour palette is fine by me and I like the glowing edges, but the eraser bugs me because it only looks like black pen. Could be more effective if it was square so people can tell it was eraser. Works well on the HTC Incredible S. Good level of screen sensitivity.

Fun music maker I really love the simple layout. I search for apps that are basic, that I can use to fill in time. It has no ads which is cool as well.

ShoDo!

Lovely writing and drawing tool Friends and I use this more for creating beautiful asian inspired art. Agree with the NO erase function - this is the point of real life wet ink. On HTC Incredible, Acer Iconia. Scales great on the Iconia tablet.
