Permissions explanation:

READ_CONTACTS - Car Locator has the ability to "beam" your location to another user who has Car Locator installed. You can select the recipient of your location by using your contact list

SEND_SMS/RECEIVE_SMS - The "beam" communication is done through SMS. This is why the SMS permission is required. No SMS's are sent without your explicit action.

Very good app to have! Especially in my situation because I am handicap and due to my medications I forgot where I last placed it, and sure enough it found my location. So yes try it!
