Samsung Galaxy 25: Evolution Rather Than Revolution

The upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy 25 has inevitably generated plenty of debate and speculation among fans of the Android smartphone series.

Users hoping for the S25 to be a vast leap forward from previous editions may need to temper their expectations, with evolution rather than revolution likely to be the name of the game.

In fairness to Samsung, the S24 series received plenty of positive reviews, so it makes little sense to make too many changes to what has proved to be a winning formula.

With that in mind, read on as we reveal what we can expect from the trio of new Samsung phones, starting with the top-of-the-range S25 Ultra.

Galaxy S25 Ultra

The S24 Ultra featured several design upgrades when it was released and Samsung is not expected to do anything too radical with the S25 Ultra.

The only major change will likely be a return to the S21 Ultra’s rounded corners rather than sharp edges – a move that will be welcomed by most users.

The device will weigh less than its predecessor but is expected to feature a slightly bigger 6.9-inch AMOLED 2X WQHD, 120Hz display.

This feature will be welcomed by iGaming enthusiasts, many of whom have been craving a bigger screen to support their online wagering activities.

Playing on platforms such as Betway will become more pleasurable on the improved display, particularly for feature-rich games such as slots and blackjack.

Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset will power the device which will come with 12GB of RAM and storage options up to 1TB.

The S25 Ultra will offer wireless charging and retain its predecessor’s impressive battery capacity and charging specifications — 5,000mAh with 45W wired charging.

Galaxy S25+

The Galaxy S25+ will feature subtle changes to its rear camera rings, which will be thicker and darker. They are likely to be color-matched with the device coloring.

The S25+ will have a 6.7-inch flat Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 3,120 x 1,440-pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, the same as its predecessor.

It will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, complete with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512 GB of storage capacity.

Battery capacity and charging speeds are unchanged from the S24+, which has a 4,900mAh capacity and a 45W wired charging speed. Wireless charging will also be available.

As with the other phones in the Galaxy range, the S25+ can be purchased in numerous colours including online exclusives Coral Red and Pink Gold.

Galaxy S25

The base model of the Galaxy S25 will retain its predecessor’s 2,340 x 1,080 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, complete with a 120Hz refresh rate.

It will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC with 12GB of RAM. Storage configuration is either 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB,

The S25 will feature the same design changes to the rear camera rings as the S25+. There will be a 50MP primary shooter, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP telephoto.

The base phone will come with a 4,000mAh battery with 25W wired charging. Wireless charging is available, although specifications are unknown at this stage.

An eye-catching Blue/Black colorway is among a handful of online exclusives available for the S25, and this will likely prove to be hugely popular with Android users.
